The Solis EC-5 is a pre-made RS485 daisy-chain cable that links up to five Solis inverters to a single Solis data logger. Each drop plugs into an inverter 4-pin COM port, and the connector at the end of the run lands on the logger. Factory spacing between connectors is 2.5 m.

Product Description
The EC-5 lets one Solis data logger monitor several inverters through a single COM port instead of requiring a dedicated logger per inverter. Solis lists the S2-WL-ST, S3-WiFi-ST and S3-GPRS-ST data loggers as compatible with the EC-5 and EC-10 daisy-chaining cables.
Every inverter on the chain must be assigned a unique RS485 slave address. Solis instructs that the inverter closest to the data logger be set to address 01, with the remaining inverters numbered 02, 03 and so on. Once wiring and addressing are correct, the three LED indicators on the data logger remain constantly on.
Solis permits cutting and extending the cable if a longer run is required. The EC-10 is the same cable in a ten-inverter version.
