A heat pump water heater moves a large volume of air across its evaporator and discharges cool, dehumidified air. In a small mechanical room, closet or conditioned space that air often needs to be ducted in, out, or both. PHDCLA0 is the LG accessory that provides the duct connection at the unit.

LG submittal documentation for its heat pump water heaters lists the optional accessory as Duct Adapter, part number PHDCLA0, and the LG dealer catalog lists PHDCLA0 as Vent Kit for Heat Pump Water Heater under air-to-water accessories. It applies to the LG APHWC series heat pump water heaters.

Duct runs must be designed within the limits in the LG engineering manual for the water heater, which requires that total static pressure not exceed 0.17 in. W.G. and publishes maximum allowable duct lengths by duct diameter and elbow count.
