The EAD036J11SS is a direct expansion air handler from the Enertech Global EAD series, designed as the indoor section of an R-454B split-system water-to-air heat pump. In Enertech nomenclature, E identifies the brand, AD a multi-position R-454B DX air handler, 036 the nominal capacity in MBTUH, J the revision, the first 1 the 208/230V 60 Hz single phase residential voltage, the second 1 the ECM motor blower option, and SS standard options.

The cabinet ships configured for vertical up-flow or horizontal right-to-left airflow and is field-convertible to down-flow and horizontal left-to-right. Blower airflow is set with DIP switches on the ECM motor control. A 3/4" condensate drain connection is provided and a P-trap is required at installation.

Per the Enertech installation manual, EAD024 through EAD072 air handlers pair with BT024 through BT072 compressor sections, so the EAD036 is matched to the BT036. Optional accessories for the 036 size include AHA051MB (5 kW) and AHA101MB (10 kW) 208/230V electric heat kits and the AFR2020A filter rack.
