Product Description
High-density polyethylene earth loop pipe for closed-loop geothermal ground heat exchangers, 1" IPS in SDR-11 wall thickness, supplied in a 610 ft length. The 4710 in the part number identifies PE4710 resin.
For 1" IPS DR 11 PE4710 the standard dimensions are a 1.315" outside diameter with a 0.120" minimum wall, and a 200 psi pressure rating for water at 73°F per ASTM D3035. HDPE is corrosion proof and heat fusible, which is why it is the standard material for buried ground loops.
The 610 ft length corresponds to the usual make-up for one vertical U-bend circuit in a 300 ft deep borehole: two 300 ft legs plus roughly 10 ft of allowance at the bend.
